Part trade show, part networking event, the Business Showcase offers a unique marketing opportunity to reinforce current business relationships and spark new partnerships among the local businesses.

The fourth annual Business Showcase will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, October 30, 2008, at the Lansing Center, 333 E. Michigan Ave. in downtown Lansing. A social hour of power networking will start at 4 p.m. For a map and directions to the Lansing Center, click here.

Admission to the 2008 Business Showcase is $5 per person. Exhibitors will receive 20 complimentary invitations to distribute to clients and customers. An e-pass will be available in September 2008.

Tickets at $5 each will be available at the Lansing Center box office from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. the day of the event.

The Showcase provides an ideal venue to learn more about the local business community and interact with the area’s established and up-and-coming businesses.

Yes, exhibitors are encouraged to offer special presentations and demonstrations from their booths.
The Greater Lansing Business Monthly will host its Business Showcase Networking Luncheon within the trade show floor at the Lansing Center on October 30. The cost is $35 per person and includes admission to the Business Showcase. Advance reservations are required for the luncheon and may be made by calling 517-487-1714 or online at www.lansingbusinessmonthly.com.
Other activities are being planned during the trade show hours. There will be a networking social with hors d’oeuvres, entertainment and a cash bar from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The Greater Lansing Business Monthly, Inc. organizes the Business Showcase. Published monthly since 1987, The Greater Lansing Business Monthly serves the tri-county region with news and features about local business and through special events supporting the area business community.

Each booth is 10 x 10 feet and includes side and back drape, one eight-foot covered and skirted table, two chairs, carpeting, one 7" x 44" booth identification sign and a waste basket. Complimentary BASIC Internet service is courtesy of Arialink and the Lansing Center.
Higher-speed Internet service, electricity, food and other booth accessories are available for an additional charge and may be ordered separately.

Arialink and the Lansing Center have partnered with The Greater Lansing Business Monthly to offer the basic tier of wireless Internet service to all exhibitors. The basic Internet service is appropriate for checking e-mail and looking up information. If Internet service is critical to your booth and presentation, you will need a higher tier of service, for which Arialink will provide a $50 credit toward that service. An Internet order form will be included with your exhibitor packet, along with instructions on how to access the wireless service.

Exhibitors who are licensed catering or restaurant establishments may distribute sample-sized food items from their booths to advertise their business. No bottled water, alcohol or other beverages may be distributed by exhibitors. A copy of your State of Michigan Food Handlers License and menu items to be served must be forwarded to the Lansing Center at least two weeks prior to the event date.
Non-food establishment exhibitors who wish to attract attendees to their booths by offering food and beverage booth displays must order these items directly through the Lansing Center’s Catering Department. No outside food or beverage is allowed to be brought into the building.

In September 2008, exhibitors will receive confirmation of their booth location, name badge order forms, invitation and parking passes. Exhibitors are strongly encouraged to promote the event to their business partners and customers. If additional invitations are needed, please contact the Business Monthly offices at 517-487-1714.

Payment is due at the time of booth reservation. Booth assignments are not guaranteed until payment is received. No refunds after Sept. 15.

Yes, while the Business Showcase focuses on the mid-Michigan business community, it is open to all businesses.

Exhibitors will receive two complimentary parking passes for spaces near the Lansing Center. The passes will be enclosed with the exhibitor mailing in September 2008.

Yes, exhibitors are encouraged to offer special demonstrations and presentations from their booths as long as it doesn't interfere with other exhibitors. Please contact Barb Rinckey at

Yes, floor sales are allowed and exhibitors are encouraged to offer Showcase specials to attendees. These specials also could be promoted to an exhibitor’s customer base.

Exhibitors may register and set up their booths from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 29 or from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Thursday, October 30. All booths must be set up by 9 a.m. on October 30.
